I strongly opposed China having the Olympics. I hated the idea. It left a queasy feeling in my stomach. Every now and then I start to fall away from the ideal that free speech is necessary. Dont get me wrong, I dont want it super censored. Just a little. I want it devoid of hate speech, How To's involving bombs, poisons, murder and rape, and troop location leaks. But man. China's restrictions make me prefer legal hate speech.

Its not one big thing that bugs me about the Olympics. Its a whole bunch of things. They were interviewing a worker the other day and he was bragging about the fact he could produce more than Americans because there are no unions, wasteful breaks or whatnot. All this after being questioned about various injuries laborers and performers have sustained such as heatstroke, fainting and other signs of overwork. Why does he prefer crippling and exhausting work conditions? Because he is told to.

    I really like this article

It covers a lot of the fakeness of it all.  Their superficial China they have created to show the world vs the real thing.  A facade that reminds me of how the nazis would dress up death camps when the red cross would inspect them (I understand the latter is way worse than the former.  Its just similarly fake).
What bothers me the most is the Olympics leaders havent said a word to my knowledge.  China's promise to not censor Internet during the Olympics was a total lie.  Their promise to allow peaceful demonstrations far from the Olympics so long as the proper paperwork was filed was also a total lie (over 100 applications submitted and none accepted).
The little girl thing where the thought the one girl was too ugly to sing was a shame.   Its insulting on so many levels.  Frankly, I think its sad that they couldnt find 1 girl who had both a great voice and was cute.  Perhaps they should do more to ensure little girls survive in their country. (I cant decide if thats a cheapshot or a fair assesment of the issue)
It all is just so frustrating.  The sooner I can go back to ignoring these issues instead of having them shoved in my face daily, the better.

    Mikes Notes (Friends style)
Its been way too long since I did one of these.  More to the piont I specifically wanted to because I had so much to note.

    First.

Major thanks to Meg and Scott for being incredible hosts the other week.  I had an amazing time and they were super gracious to go out of thier way to have me there.  I am small but I take up a ton of space so they had to put up with a lump and all his stuff a whole weekend.

It was a great weekend though.  Seeing everyone was awesome.  Esspecially the extra time I got to spend with Meg, Scott, Palsy, Casey and Faulkiebear.

As an additional note.  Myk is a rediculously good GM and I had a blast playing his game.  Its inventive and full of tons of interesting charachters.  I mean we have all loved Kalim and Jack.  Imagine a whole world of people played by Myk.  Fantastic.

The week after that I hung with Whit, Mike and Heather and Dan in varried doses which was neat.  Getting to see Faulkiebear so often is awesome but somewhat addicting.  Now he is cutting me off  and I got the DT's hard.

This weekend is total Palsy and Casey time.  I absolutely cant wait.  SLUMBER PARTY!

The week after that is Meg and Scott.  I got plans for all sorts of funsies there as well.  These 2 weekends are an absolutely great way to end the larpless portion of summer.

This weekend I went to Ohio to see family.  Unfortunatly I missed a few parties.  Sorries to Graham and Melanie.  I really wanted to be there.  Perhaps you should throw more so I can make up for it?

    Mikes Notes

Setting your alarm for 3am physically hurts.  I sometimes go to bed at 3am.  I never really want to wake up then.  Here are some findings about 3am wakeups

    - Morning breath must happen between 3:01am and whenever you wake up because my breath was still pretty minty.

    - Birds start chirping at 4am.  What the Heck Birds! (is Heck capitalized?  IDK)

    - It is still too hot for long sleeves at 4am

    - 3 am showers make you think about weird things like how + signs have started taking some of ampersands already small market value.  Somewhere the word “and” is laughing its head off.

Lately life has been good and is getting better.  I have done more and my dance card for the next month or so is filling up.  I will get to see Meg and scot like 3 times by the end of August.  I will probably see Melanie, Andy and Chris soon.  Never mind the many many others that I am likely to see along with those folk.  People on my need to see list include Palsy, Casey and Shannon.  I am already starting to plan such stuff.  It has also been awhile since I saw my sister last.  I do have a weekend in August open but hopefully not for long.

1 day of 2.5 done.  Tom is the toughie though.  If I can get past tom where I have to talk the whole gosh darn day about lame stuff that is slightly frightening.  Once I get to Friday its easy peasy 5 hours then a flight home.  And this weekend should rule.  So just 1 more terrible day…

    Mikes Notes
Life has been good lately.  I have had way more to do up here in Boxford, Dan Burke is back,  Mike Burke was back but is not gone again and ahve had some cool animal encounters.  Lets get into stuff, shall we.

Seeing animals like crazy.  A couple of weeks ago some racoons (a mom and 2 fuzzball babies) came up to the back porch to try and steal stuff grill leavings.  In the process, they triggered the motion sensor light and I came to the glass sliding door.  They saw me and were EXTREMELY curious.  In fact they also all came to the glass and all that seperated us was a said glass.  Racoons are cute enough but racoon babies?  Awesome.  In addition to this, I have seen several foxes walk right past me (they niether seem interested in more nor afraid).  As well as deer.

Bought a new computer.  I really needed one that played the latest games.  Its not SUPER awesome but it will get things done.  3 ghz dual core, 2 hard drives (1 fast one for apps and one regular one for files), 4 gigs ram, and a nvidia 8800GT vid card.  I want it in preperation for spore and starcraft 2 as well as a couple games i missed such as civ4, TF2 and supreme comander.  Parts should arrive by early next week.

Saw hancock last night.  it is ok.  There is one specific piont that annoys me despite it being silly an small and I dont think they used the arrested developement guy to optimum hilarious levels.

    Mikes horrible notes

I apologize in advance for any whining I am about to do.  Normally I keep my LJ whine-free but this siutaion calls for it.

    waaaaaahhhhhhh

This week has been just awful.  I am going to cry about it some more.

    waaaaaaahhhhhh

Ok,so here is the fun summarized for your enjoyment/pity depending on how dead you are inside.

Sunday the plan was to fly to detroit and then from there to Moline Iowa.  Well our flight to detroit was delayed 3 hours.  Which stunk because that would mean we would miss the flight from detroit to Iowa.  However this didnt turn out to matter as that flight was canceled outright.  Well there was a flight from detroit to iowa the next day which they booked Pete on... but they forgot me and the flight filled up.  So we had to drive. All night from detroit to Iowa (7 hours).  Oh and after not sleeping I had boring meetings to sit through.

K, well that trip pretty much wrapped up.  So the plan was to fly from moline to chicago to indianapolis for trip 2.  Epic fail!  that flight was delayed.  During the confusion the lady sent me back to the ticket agent.  Well I do what they say and I come back and security wont let me back in.  "Huh" "We are closed sir".  Apparently they have enough guards to keep me out of the aiport but not enough to let me walk through a metal detector.  Also he gave me a speech about how the sign I walked by said it closed promptly at 7:30 because Its the LAW! which lead to a less than fufilling watch check that said 7:27.  "Oh... well I dont control that".  I got snotty at this piont "but... but ITS THE LAW!".  I think its great they all went home early.  I do.  Oh well, pete ended up making it to chicago only to have his flight to indy cancelled and no hotels or cars to rent.  He slept poorly in the airport while I was living it up in a dingy holiday inn express in iowa...

So far I am 0 for 4 in flights.  I have 1 to go where I come home friday.  Thunderstorms are scheduled for flight time.  I think i will throw a hissy fit if thats cancelled.  Like just sit down wherever I am and start screaming "NO! I wanna go home! Yoou cant make me stay here! TAKE ME HOME NOW!!"

Well thats not all the bad news folks.  My laptop crashed.  So now I am at a client in indiana without a computer.  Its awful.  I mean my laptop still works but only like 3 of the apps work including inet explorer and notepad which I am typing this on.  There isnt enough time to mail me a new one out here so I must remain laptopless which is only really attractive in girls.  Also it is shocking how limiting it is not having one.  I cant do ANYthing.

Special thanks to Ball State U (to be hereby referred to as ballbuster U) for giving me a $75 parking ticket for parking in one of thier poorly signed parking lots right next to the resteraunt we were eating in (we thougt it was resteraunt parking).  Which leads to an interesting question.  How does one expense a parking ticket...  Also does anyone know the legality of not paying a college parking ticket.  Because I cant imagine ever needing anything from Ball state

    So wah... WAH

Once again I apologize for this post.  Its just been a frustrating week for me.

But the weekend outlook looks good and I think I am on track for my quarterly bonus at the end of the month (woot!)

    Mikes Notes

Oh man.  I am tirrrrrred. There were/are thunderstorms all over the Midwest.   So flying to Detroit from Boston took 2 extra hours with delays AND flying up into Canada to avoid the storms.  Here is where things get really fun.  My flight to Moline IA was cancelled.  Bummer.  But worse is there ISNT another flight to Iowa for days that isnt full.  Its cool I guess, we can fly to Chicago and make the 3.5 hour drive to Iowa.  Wait what?  Chicago is full until Tuesday?  Uh oh…  So the plan rapidly became “I guess we are driving from Detroit to Moline which is about 7 hours.  And we did it overnight.  Pete drove 11:15 to 1:30 and I marathoned it till we arrived at 6:15 (well really 5:15 thanks to a 1 hour time travel via central time).  Then I went to bed and set my alarm for 9am.  Oof

This weekend was neat.   I got to go to see Stormy Ned and Bergie and then I got to sneak away to Beaver day and see everyone else.  Beaver day was a fantastic workload.  I have 2 weird marks on my arm.  They are either a really strange poison ivy location or really strange bites.  They are ugly and still getting a tad worse.  Has anyone else had these?  I know there were strange bites during the last game.

I gotta go unfortunately.  I have more to chat about but Im simply swamped.  Hope everyone is well!

Well Im in Iowa. Yup.  Iowa.

So far all I can say is I had a 30 minute cab ride from the airport that featured a 20 minute description of the nearby “John Deere” international HQ and a 5 minute spiel on how I should check out the tractor museum followed promptly by 5 mins of awkward silence.

Magestry is this weekend and my sis is going to be there!

Mini Magestry was fun.  Ideally I would have gotten more involved in the development but I got to have a lot of fun regardless.  Extra thanks for Lynn and Dawn for involving me in your plots!

I saw Lewis black in Boston a couple of weeks ago.   Not sure I mentioned it.   He was pretty.  My favorite line without blowing the joke was “Because that’s our way of killing them”

Officially going Perm NPC at Magestry.  Don’t worry folks.  I wont become disillusioned and hateful for NPCing every larp I play.  Besides, NPCing Magestry will be an awesometastic chance to learn from a ridiculously talented GM and NPC staff.  I will take no joy in killing PCs.  So expect to see Johnny and cahill playing all my bloodthirsty roles.

Just got done giving my presentation in Iowa for day 1.  Day 2 is an absolute marathon where I talk all morning and all afternoon.  I don’t know how teachers do it.  I mean I love to talk and all but DAMN.  The good news is today I was nervous as hell and I wouldn’t say I aced it but I certainly did slightly better than survive.  Tomorrow has a better chance of me screwing up but less chance of complete disaster.

    Mikes Notes

Last weekend ruled.  I always love seeing the Magestry folk and sometimes more so out of game where I get to see them being 100% themselves.  Afterall many of them are way less jerky in real life than their prideful angry IG selves.  Gotta love beaver day and its awesomeness.  Never mind badmovie night.  I didnt sleep but maybe 30 minutes that night so Sunday was spent making up for it.  When you miss a whole nights sleep and take a nap its awful.  Its 100% dream sleep.  And not jsut any dreams.  Crazy Vivid dreams that range from mundane normal stuff to weird and creepy to awesome.  Buts its always disorienting to wake up after.  The only thing that makes dreams weirder are crazy fever dreams.

This weekend is FQ and I am excited.  Should be a good time.  I still have a lot to learn about the game but I am excited for various plots i will be involved in and general crunchying.

After that is the Magestry mini-event.  A neat idea.  I look forward to seeing how it runs.  I really have no idea what to expect.  I don’t even know how many PCs there will be but I imagine they will be outnumbered 2 or 3 to 1.

Then of course is regular Magestry which is always awesome

I have been thinking about possibly NPCing at Magestry for a year.  I haven’t made any decision yet but I am definitely leaning towards doing so if they want me.  They may be looking for someone with a tad more experience behind the curtain.  After all I have never GMed a game of D&D or NPCed a whole game (until this weekend at FQ)

My sister will be there and Whitney is being awesome by lending her awesome ranger gear.  It will fit because my sister is going warrior and its a pretty tough looking outfit.  I haven’t written her char yet but that can wait a bit longer

I am officially on the Iowa project.  Huzzuh.  No wait, what’s the opposite of huzzuh?  I think the opposite of Huzzuh is Iowa.

Went to FQ for the first time.  It was fun.  I mostly spent time with Scot and Meg.  I did use the time to gather info on some PCs and learn about ongoing plots.  I am excited to finally get to NPC in May.  I injured my neck badly at the game but the good news is I don’t have a broken neck!  I had to go to the doctors to check (Not a severe break of course as I was still capable of walking to the Dr.).  Just a really really bad neck injury that will be mostly healed in time for Magestry (I asked the doc and she cleared me.  Also she was like Elliot reed age though not quite Elliot reed hot (Though not bad))

Magestry is this weekend!!!!!!!  I am stoked for this game.  I have a TON to accomplish and my boy kensu moto will be back!  Nevermind everyone else I already excepted and love.  About 56 hours to go.  The weather looks pretty good.

Other awesome Magestry news is that my sister is coming to the May game.  That should be hilarious.  I think we should have a sibling deathmatch with the coppola’s, sternbergs, labontes, Beck and Ashman (halvesies countsies) and pastores.  Not the Deys though.  I am not messing with them.

Super short I realize but Im pretty busy.  See most of you in 2 days!

    BMN

Went to BMN the other day and learned the following

    -          Though Palsy be but small, she is mighty… AND VICIOUS!

    -          Kicking Faulkiebear in the stomach is everything I dreamed of and more.  And I didn’t even need to knock him up first to get my chance.

    -          Lindsey is the opossum of the friendship circle.  Her defense for being attacked is to curl up in a ball and softly whine.

    -          G-ram is extremely crafty.  He is especially capable of trickery when combining prison tattooing with being an ass

    -          I am able to rip my shirt off JUST like Hulk Hogan if Hogan had 5 people helping him do it

    -          Casey is well built AND extremely capable of turning a ripped t-shirt into classy whore attire

    -          Tanguay and Lex are above roughhousing UNLESS you show them your back too long.

    -          Pink bellies sorta hurt, red bellies sting but purple bellies are something else entirely

    -          Meg is a horrible person who finds my pain HILARIOUS.  WHY!  WHY!!!

    -          Palsy CANNOT successfully drink beverages in front of an audience.  She is excellent at sadistically carving up her BF’s back with a plastic knife

    -          Late night gossip with Arte is amazing.  Ok I knew that already but it was reaffirmed.

    -          Whitney can be terrifying when crossed.  Fortunately I learned that vicariously

    -          Roughhousing and goofing around from time to time is cathartic

    -          Tal is nicer than the rest of those jerks and was able to successfully save me an oatmeal cookie without crushing it up in her palm.

2 days till Magestry ahhhhhhh!  I am so excited.  This is going to the biggest game of all time.  There are so many things I am excited for and looking forward to!  I will of course speak more to this come next week in the afterglow.

This weekend I hung out with my sister and her friends Friday and went to the anime convention sat.  It was alright on both accounts.  Clubbing isnt really my scene and neither is anime really.  At least not anymore.  I burned through all the good animes out there and the scene is (as always perhaps) focused on the bad ones.  If I see one more Naruto fan boy, I am gonna kill someone.

Of course the wonderful aspects of the convention remained.  Peoplewatching was great and the hentai stuff was hilarious (Dubbing experiment/music video contest).  The hentai music videos were only so so.  But one really stood out.  It was hentai to the theme of Pokemon…  It starts off with a battle between Ash and some guy and ash throws a pokeball which spawns a naked women and the phrase “who knew pokemon were so cool?” (The answer of course is I did)

If I were to do a video I would put it to some Christian rock song about “dropping to your knees to pray”.  Its too easy to make a video to a song like “F&(& her gently” or “Sexxy”

Hey, is it weirder that I am dancing nude to Apache by the sugar hill game at 7am or poison by bell biv devoe?  I cant decide.  Its apache right?  But cmon.  Tonto jump on it!

Did anyone mention its going to be cold this weekend and to dress warm yet?  Because do so.  Thought its now not supposed to be rainy/snowy sat or sun.  Woot

Until next time guys.... Kimosabe Jump on it!

This weekend was pretty fun.  Friday night was my sisters boyfriends bday party.  It was enjoyable albeit comically dramatic.  I still cant believe I didn’t get any mcDs.  I was starving!

Update on the following betterment activities

    1. Nailbiting.  Its been 2 months now.  I am still waiting on 3 nails to grow out (probably another 1.5 months.  But I had to start trimming the other ones.   They are still ugly little bastards but they will need some time before they get back into shape.
    2. Running. I have been slacking here.  My bad.  I guess I will not be in much better shape for Magestry as its too late now.  Although doing 2 larps might just boost it a bit so I get in better shape with the help of a little extra running
    3. I stopped weight lifting really to focus on push ups.  Its coming a long well.  My shoulders and chest are feeling more burn
    4. Improve on clothing.  Check.  I got a few new things to be mentioned later

Now on to more fun topics.

Went shopping with Shannon Sat morning.  It was a blast and resulted in 2 new shirts and a blazer.  The blazer means I can officially dwell in Coolsville instead of just getting a room at the best western from time to time.  All and all it wasn’t as much as I thought I would have to spend and I am happy with the results.

Sunday Paul and Angela stopped in and it was good to see them.  Those 2 crazy kids are always busy so getting the chance to chill was a rare treat.  I even got to see Samewise

I am gearing up for FQ.  Read through most of the rules yesterday.  I think I will catch on real quick with the only real exception being the fact Id have to relearn incants.  But that doesn’t matter for my first game because Ill be playing a warrior.  Figure I will scrap together costuming that may include chainmail.  Also I have to decide whether to fight with 2 swords or a spear.  2 swords is probably better  but I am terrible with 1 sword.  But it might be fun to practice.  Although 2 swords and chainmail may leave me terribly exhausted  tough calls.  Then I need to figure out how I will roleplay him.  Right now I am thinking methodical with little showing of emotion and a direct almost confrontational conversational style.  I figure as a “ranger” he will be unaccustomed to being around people and may not have a ton of social grace.  We will see though.

Made 100ish spell packets for personal use

    Happy Bday Faulkiebear!

I will find something to go sit in the corner and cry about later today as my bday gift for you.  Maybe they will even be blood-tears!

Has anyone not seen the spontaneous musical number on youtube yet?  It was brilliant.  BRILLIANT.  One of my life dreams has been to witness and or take part in a spontaneous musical number.  Its likely to go unfulfilled for awhile but it will be one of the first things I do in heaven.  Anyway, check it out.  It starts out lame as you would expect.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TrOZ7pjvpjs

It occurs to me that I have no idea how to properly maintain nails now that I have some.  I don’t even know how long they are supposed to be???

2 weeks and 1 day till Magestry.  Never as less epic sounded like more fun.  Certainly the most exciting part of it all is the lack of understanding.  I remember how exciting the first 2 games I ever played were just because I knew little to nothing about my surroundings.  This will be similar to that.  Oh for the excitement of the unknown

FQ is coming up.  I am all signed up and ready.  A couple of small issues.  I don’t want to really waste any costuming on my PC.  I mean I don’t have a huge wardrobe but In theory Id like to save the few costumes I do have for recurring NPCs I might create.  I wouldn’t want to therefore waste anything on a 1 time PC.  So I will either rent something or come up with a really generic costume (IE Black wrap pants, chain mail and a tabard or something).  Ive also started looking into buying a few additional costume pieces.  I will make a more grand effort when I start writing Future NPCs

Got a haircut but left my hair long.  Its cleaned up though and it needed it bad.  I guess I am going for a shaggier look but I am not really sure where I am going with this yet.

My room needs to be cleaned bad.

    Mikes Notes

Well to update on my self betterment progress.

    1. Nailbiting.  In 2 days it will have been 6 weeks since I quit biting my nails.  7 out of 10 of them are just about ready to be trimmed.  3 of them were so bad they still have a ways to go.  In fact those 3 will probably take another month to be ready.  But still, 6 weeks was my original goal and though I expanded it to soon after to 8-10 weeks I am still happy with the progress.
    2. Running is not happening half as much as it should.  I am only running 2 times a week and it needs to be 5-6 times.
    3. Weight lifting is going well.  I expanded from forarms and biceps to include abs.  Really I am only doing crunches on the abs but it is tightening up.  My biceps are the biggest they have been since I wrestled in high school.  They may even be bigger (Actually they are probably bigger since I wighed like 40-60 pounds less then)
    4. Improve on clothing.  Shannon and a friend of hers are meeting me at banana republic to grab a few outfits.  Should be fun and a step in the right direction.

Magestry newsletter is out.  It is all pretty awesome though still a bit confusing.  I know understand everything that happened.  However I am a little unsure of the current state of Magesta.  Also they gave us the option of asking the mongrelians stuff.  Which is akin to asking god something.  The question becomes what to ask?

Anime convention is in 2 weeks.  Normally I am semi excited for such things but I burned through most of the good anime awhile ago.  All that’s left is the 1-2 good shows a year that come out.  I may go sat but that’s it.

Easter this year will be different.  All my aunts and uncles as well as my parents will be on vacation.  My sister moved out so its pretty much me.  I got invited to my cousins.  I am not whining by the way.  Not a huge Easter fan anyway.  As far as holidays go, Its Xmas, 4th of July (used to hate this but now its all about wiffleball, beer and grilling) and Halloween.  Everything else is pretty lame.

I went out with my sister and her friends Sat night into Boston.  I had a really good time, got really drunk, got some hot blondes number (Not sure I will call it though) and ended the night briefly throwing up (I could have NOT thrown up but I knew I would feel better and boy did I).  Then I passed out.  Id say it was a pretty productive night.  The singer chick was AWESOME.  She was so jazz-roc.  She melted my heart but alas was married.  She also played tambourine which is one of the sexiest instruments out there because you can play it with your ass.

Why is it whenever I get drunk I feel embarrassed even if I don’t do anything to be embarrassed about?

I bought the rest of the series Beck: Mongolian chop squad.  It’s a kickass anime based around a band trying to make it.  Its references to popular music and its gritty feel make it really special.  Granted I have only seen the first few episodes but its fantastic so far.

I really want to get one of those casual blazers.  For some reason I associate blazers with cool and have always wanted one.  I wonder what color I should get?  I don’t think I could pull off white and black is too boring.  So I guess that means brown right?  Or do they come in other colors?

    Magestry in 32 days!

I haven’t posted in awhile so here we go.

Stressful couple of days at work.  Real bad.  Every so often this happens.  I just got to push through it.  Worked until about 11 last night.  Got up at 6am and started working gain.  Ill be up late tonight and early tom.

Party at Faulkiebears was pretty awesome.  Highlights include

    1. Yelling “Your not my real dad” at Faulkies Crotch
    2. Making an interpretive dance to wonderwall with Palsy
    3. Seeing Melanie, Andy and Chris after having no idea they would show
    4. Mingling and chatting with tons of people there because I was too sick to play rock band
    5. Having a Shakespeare moment with Toner.  Sure Will is my second favorite Shakespeare but whatever’s
    6. Seeing a few people drunkle.  I figure everyone should get wasted every now and then as long as they do so in a safe environment with loved ones around.

My xbox is still out to be fixed.  I don’t really miss it.  I don’t really have any games other than rock band that I am in to

Update on the following betterment activities

    1. Nailbiting.  Its been 3 weeks since I quit.  I have only minorly picked at em and they are coming along.  My initial estimate was 4-6 weeks.  I now think it will take 6-8 since they were so short.  They just don’t grow as fast as I remember.  I have already encountered the first of 2 expected problems with quitting.  You see, when you have never HAD nails you tend to scratch a little rough.  Then when you suddenly have nails you accidentally cut yourself a lot…
    2. Running mostly got put on hold.  I got sick and exercise was killing me.  The cold was in my head and lungs so running was giving me a headache and terrible athsma.  I will start again either today or tomorrow.
    3. I only took a few days off weight lifting though.  I am thinking of adding crunches to the mix.  I mean I am only really working on biceps and forearms
    4. Improve on clothing.  I really need girls to help with this.  Esspecially girls with strong sense of male fashion.  I am thinking about going into Boston to the Copley place mall.

My sister is moving out leaving me alone in this place!  Haha, If I hadn’t already moved out for a few years I would be depressed about living here.

Magestry creeps closer and closer!  The vest for my new chars costume is almost done.  Rowen will be there

I am excited to try FQ with Meg.  Since I will only be PCing 1 game I want to play something I otherwise would get bored with.  I am thinking either a bodyguard, evil player (really hard to be successfully evil and level 1), thief (I will always find this boring), elf (I hate elves… too pointy) or whatever.

    Mikes Notes

Well I had a sweet couple of days.  Never underestimate the power of the sun and warm weather to perk a chap up.  I had what was probably my last business trip to Florida this week mon to thur but instead of flying back thur night I drove to Orlando with my dad.  We stayed at the royal Pacific hotel which is a nice Polynesian style hotel.  Then we spent fri and sat at universal studios, and islands of adventure.  Here are some interesting notes

Universal studios lets you walk around with beer and drink and whatnot.  Its so awesome to drink while walking around outside.  Normally drinking confines you to a smaller area since public drinking is normally illegal.

Roller Coasters can be more fun in the very back.  There is just more G-force back there.  I think the front is held back some on the initial drop whereas the back is pulled forwards.  I don’t know if scientifically this makes sense but it feels this way.

Nobody, and I mean nobody was at the park Friday.  The lines were 5 minutes at the longest.  It makes it somewhat weird because you do so much so quickly.  We did everything we wanted to do in both islands and universal Friday by like 4pm (some stuff twice) and that includes shows and eating.

Dueling pianos still rocks.  They need more of these things.  I only know of 1 place in Boston that does it.  I think the next time I go on a date that might be the second half.

I managed to eat a candy apple without getting any on my cheeks, nose or forehead.  Personal feat of extreme accomplishment right there.

    Other assorted notes

Order of the stick is better than I remember.  Probably because the first time I read through it I had never played D&D.  I still haven’t really but I did play D&D online which uses much of the same system.  It’s also an entertaining story without the jokes

Working from home most of this week.

Next weeked is dueling b-day parties.  Should be awesome.  Looking forward to seeing everyone.  I should mingle more this time.  Hopefully rock band wont completely dominate my small attention span.

Watched that “Tales from the Past 3” WoW movie.  It is impressive what he did.  The story was awful.  Like terrible awful but the cameras and stuff were good considering what he was working with.  Its an entire hour and a half movie filmed inside the video game World of Warcraft.  The one huge annoyance I have with the movie is there is WAYYYYY too much “There is absolutely No way I will ever do that!” “Come onnnnn”  “Ok, you sold me”

Ya characters make huge swings in from being drastically opposed to being in favor with no real reason.  I mainly watched the video just to see what it was.

    What the French, Toast?

I saw a chick carrying a small bag purse like thing with the picture of a bajingo on it.  Nothing pornographic.  It just was like the internal science picture with the ovaries and fallopian tubuley and other assorted thingies.  Kinda gross since it was like way too early in the morning (5:30 am) to think about bajingo’s in a sciency manner.  You gotta wait until at least 9am for that.

I was way allergy’y yesterday.  I feel way better today though it still is occurring.  I even woke up with a hive on my cheek.  I don’t get hiveS.  I get a hive every now and then.  My sister gets them in mass quantities.  I just washed my cheek and it went away instantly.

I went to bed at 9pm last night and maaaaan did I need that.

Turns out my replacement guitar for rock band got stoled before it got to UPS.  New one is on the way.

Was thinking about maybe taking on a second larp as an NPC.  Nothing majorly involved.  Just get some more fun on more weekends.  I already talked to faulkiebear about it but does anyone have other good recommendations.  I want to check out some websites and whatnot.  It being close to Me is not a requirement(duh, Magestry is 3 hours).  But no farther south than southern CT.

    Mikes Notes

My sex-box 360 is red ringed o deathed.  For those who don’t know what that means, xbox’s are ticking timebombs.  They have fatal flaws that cause them all to break eventually.  Mine went down after like 5 months.  I will be shipping it off to be replaced this week.  I am pretty much tired of every game I have other than rock band though so no big deal.

I am in Florida.  For my last business trip down here!  Its 70 degrees and sunny.  Wow, my brain is just not working today.  Look at these sentences.  No flow.  Awkward as all hell.  I blame it on 3 hours of sleep and a pounding headache.

BMN was a lot of fun.  I haven’t seen Myk, Tal or Dave since Tanksgiving.  Probably will see them again at dual-bday-palooza.

Magestry is more and more coming to the forefront.  The Magestry board will catch fire in about 3 weeks if I know my patterns.  People like to wait till 5 weeks out before they let themselves get too swept up in Magestry fever.  Of course the newsletter coming out early could change that.  Haven’t really worked too hard on my new costume yet but I probably wont need it until the fall.

I don’t want to talk about the superbowl.  I do however want to cry about it.  HARD.  Like “Big Fish” hard but not quite “The episode of the cosby show where he gets rid of his couch” hard.  Somewhere in “The bridge to terribithia” hard.  The movie, not the book.

The Scindo Icon never fails to get my hopes up and crash them down.  I always look at it and go “oh boy, Scindo posted something!!!!”  before I realize its my own god forsaken musings.  In 13yo gamer lingo “ZOMG WTF.  I R ID1OT LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL”

I think my brain is turning back on.  The last 2 paragraphs were way more indicative of my writing style than the first few.

Sidenote: I have decided to quit biting my nails.  I expect it to be about a 6 week process if I don’t have any major setbacks.  I don’t really have any rewards in mind if I complete it or any punishments if I don’t.  Its all going to come down to willpower.  So far I have made it about 5 days with no real problems.  Unlike smoking it should get easier, no harder right?
